Residual – is a platformer with elements of a survival simulator. The game boasts elaborate pixel graphics and procedural world generation. It is made in a sci-fi setting. According to the plot, the hero crashes on one of the planets in a forgotten part of the galaxy. His task is to study alien technology and find a way to fix the starship.

Hostile flora and fauna, as well as mysterious silt, prevent you from achieving your goal. In Residual, the appearance of locations depends on the planet’s position in space. If it is close to the sun, then traveling along its surface will be accompanied by intense heat, and plants will be less common. If the celestial body is located far from the star, then the nights will be much longer. This mechanic affects the gameplay. For example: a short day will add problems, since the protagonist’s suit is charged by solar energy.

Another difference of the project is the absence of the usual battles. There is no violence in this product. The emphasis in the gameplay is on exploring the terrain, solving puzzles and survival. In the game, you can collect food and extract minerals, light fires, create items, find secrets and data on what happened to the ancient civilization. The character editor allows you to choose the gender of the hero. He does not travel alone. He is accompanied by a sarcastic drone PDB. There is an option to flexibly adjust the difficulty.
