Crawl Tactics

Crawl Tactics is a hybrid of a turn-based tactical RPG and a roguelike. The graphics here are stylized in retro style. It’s pixelated and anime. Battles take place on square maps that are randomly generated. Each arena can fit within the screen. This video game uses an isometric view. The picture can be zoomed in and out. Initially, the user is given 3 fighters. As he progresses, he can increase the size of his squad. Units vary in appearance, skills and classes. Depending on their type, they can attack close or from afar with conventional weapons, hurl magical projectiles, and even change the landscape.

CT, unlike other representatives of the TRPG genre, does not have an emphasis on storytelling. There is no full-fledged story here, as well as the usual story campaign. Instead, the title offers endless travel through dungeons. Each floor consists of several paths leading to bosses and many rooms. These rooms host various events. Some allow you to hire fighters, others contain chests with useful equipment, others offer to fight ordinary or elite opponents, and so on. The locations here are varied. There are catacombs, forests, ancient ruins and other places. The player is allowed to use terrain features against opponents. You can push enemies into traps like spikes, set grass on fire, put out fires, freeze liquids, hit water with lightning to cause an electric shock over an area, and stuff like that.
